Michelle Medoff

Miss Long Island 2014

Excited and grateful to have been crowned Miss Long Island 2014, Michelle is finishing up her undergraduate career as a senior at Hofstra University where she is studying broadcast journalism and political science. Michelle has worked at News 12 as an assistant to features/entertainment reporter – Elisa DiStefano – and hopes to pursue a career in entertainment and music.

Michelle has dealt with addiction in her family for the past ten years and it hits very close to home. She hopes to raise awareness about addiction as a disease by removing the stigma that is attached to it, while also encouraging addicts and their families to seek help in recovery programs and support groups such as Alcoholic’s Anonymous, Families Anonymous, Al-Anon, and more. She believes that if there is understanding and forgiveness attached to addiction, people will more readily seek help and admit they have a problem – as well as families and friends being more understanding and less judgmental.

In her free time, Michelle works as a party motivator and model. She is a trained vocalist and has a passion for music. She is a big animal lover and enjoys working out and experimenting in the kitchen! She is excited for the year ahead and looking forward to representing the Long Island pageant family at the Miss New York USA pageant in January!

Sabrina Franza

Miss Long Island Teen 2014

Sabrina is extremely thankful and honored to have been crowned Miss Long Island Teen 2014. She is excited to kick off her senior year at Kellenberg Memorial High School by emphasizing her platform, To Write Love On Her Arms, at school and all over Long Island.

Inspired by the hardships of her close friends, it is Sabrina’s goal to prove to teens that if they are suffering from depression, anxiety, or self hate, that they are not alone; the best days are indeed ahead. She hopes to use her reign to bring these dark and difficult topics into a new realm of hope, knowledge, and light. Sabrina believes that if teens are taught how to recognize the causes and symptoms of these illnesses, her generation can lower the statistic that one in five teens suffer from depression. Working with TWLOHA’s street team, she will continue to raise awareness through the internet and social media.

In addition, Sabrina hopes to continue her work with the Ronald McDonald House LI, and to carry on the legacy of the queens before her. In her spare time, Sabrina loves to performe. As a trained actress and vocalist, she has participated in numerous NYSSMA music festivals, theater productions, and concerts. She is thrilled to be a part of the Long Island Pageant family!
