Miss Long Island 2018

Briana is extremely humbled and honored to hold the title of Miss Long Island 2018. Briana is a Brentwood native with a bold and ambitious soul. She recently graduated cum laude from Pace University with a Bachelor’s in Business Management and she now works in digital marketing for a leading luxury skincare brand. She hopes to one day launch her own line of cosmetics.

Some of Briana’s hobbies include make-up application, cosmetic chemistry, weight training and cooking. Her passion is beauty but she always believed that outer beauty only captures the eyes and it is one’s inner beauty that is capable of having a lasting affect on the world.

Briana competed in her first pageant in 2016 because she was inspired by the responsibly that comes along with being a title holder. After seeing how much negative attention her hometown had been receiving, she knew she wanted to run for Miss Long Island as an opportunity to leave a lasting legacy of positivity in her community. Briana’s platform is Big Brothers and Big Sisters of Long Island because it affords leaders across Long Island the opportunity to inspire children in need and encourage them to reach their full potential. Her ongoing message to the youth is that no dream is too big to pursue, no matter who you are and no matter where you come from.

In all of her endeavors she has sought to pave the way for younger women to fearlessly aspire to reach any goal. As Miss Long Island 2018, she will continue her work with the Big Brothers Big Sisters of Long Island and other similarly situated programs so that she can continue to shape the lives of young women in Long Island and New York.

Miss Long Island Teen 2018
Community Queen

Alexa is very honored and eager to start her reign as Miss Long Island Teen 2018! Alexa will be entering her senior year at St. John the Baptist high school and after she graduation she hopes to pursue a career in politics.

This dream of hers began in 2011 when she met former Miss Long Island Teen Kimberly Taff. It wasn’t until this past April that she chose her platform; communities against drugs and gang violence. She chose this platform after hearing about  the four Central Islip teenage boys who were tragically killed by gang members.

She believes that with a proper education and a role model to guide them, the next generation can accomplish anything they want in life. Alexa hopes to create workshops and seminars that will help the youth find jobs/internships that coincide with their future career choices.

Alexa is a strong believer in the African proverb “It takes a village to raise a child.” She hopes that through community involvement, the next generation of youth will be guided down the right path. With the help of community leaders, business owners and teenage mentors they can grow up to be successful adults.

When Alexa is not out volunteering in her community, you can find her dancing at Venettes Cultural Workshop in Wyandanch. She practices ballet, tap, jazz, African,  hip hop and pointe.  In school, she enjoys working on projects for the media club like writing articles for the school newspaper. She also helps produce videos for film festivals. She loves to read magazines as well as keep up with the worlds political news.
